PHP semantics. A different execution foundation.
KEEP THE LANGUAGE. CHANGE THE BOUNDARY.
Null Breach investigates an independent execution layer for PHP-compatible applications: translating language behavior into bounded operations, confining request state, and making resource authority explicit.
A design study. No runtime is released or offered for download.
NULL TERMINAL Search the web. Read the sources. Loading terminal. Requires JavaScript.
One search tool, one research question.
What happens to PHP programs when memory belongs to a request, effects require authority, and the end of a request is an operation instead of an assumption?
Terminal search
Search through NULL TERMINAL. Explore the Null technology prototype for PHP-site filtering.
Semantic lowering
PHP source through scope analysis and normalization into ZIR, where every coercion, alias and effect is an explicit operation.
Request cells
Each request owns one mutable region, one budget and one list of resources, and they are released together.
Explicit capabilities
Files, databases, sockets and clocks are reached through granted capabilities. Missing authority is a defined error.
Transition model
State as (P, M, K, Q), labelled steps, an isolation condition with its assumptions, and a budget rule.
Evaluation methods
Differential execution, fuzzing, lifecycle and budget tests, extension review and independent assessment.
The engineering sequence, in order.
Each stage depends on the one before it. No dates, no completed milestones: this is the order the work would have to happen in.
- Catalogue observable behaviour. List the language behaviours real programs depend on, including warnings and destructor timing, and mark which follow from implementation choices. The Execution Boundary
- Specify ZIR. Define operations for coercion, aliasing, regions and effects precisely enough to lower real code by hand. From Source to Sealed Operations
- Build a reference interpreter. A slow, readable Vessel Engine whose only goal is agreement with the reference engine under differential tests.Evaluation methods
- Introduce capabilities and budgets. Remove ambient authority, define failure paths, and test exhaustion and teardown.Authority Has a Lifetime
- Seek independent assessment. Publish the model, its assumptions and test harnesses for review by people outside the project.State, Effects, and Compatibility
NULL TERMINAL is the Null technology search interface. PHP-site filtering is a prototype concept, not active filtering. Live results are unfiltered. It does not run PHP, scan sites, or implement any isolation property described here. Queries are sent to our server and an external search provider.
